Amazing 2-4 Minute Workout

I am constantly scanning the Internet and reading my favorite biohacker blogs and longevity doctors’ posts for new information about what is best for our health. If you are like me, you believe that this information should be freely available to all humans to assimilate. Traditional western medicine has failed us, in the sense that it typically relies on the “quick fixes” the pharmaceutical companies provide with their newest and greatest drugs. Human Nature is somewhat to blame here, as we, as a species, are lazy. Doctors don’t want to upset their patients by telling them the truth (if, they are even aware of the “truth”). The bottom line, is there is a “ton” of useful, applicable information available to us, BUT… But the problem is sifting through the crap, and pseudoscience, and those trying to make a quick buck with dramatic promises.

My goal with this website and blog is to present you with good, solid, science-based information that is easily understood to implement into your own life, to make lasting, beneficial changes to your health and well-being.

That said (and I will likely repeat this in subsequent blogs), I will cite my sources and often push you to some other respected biohackers’ blog to let them explain it better than I can. I will attempt to offer my impression and dumb-down explanation, to interest you.

Hopefully, you will find and print information relevant to your own health, and bring it to your doctor, if need be, to be your own best medical advocate. The Internet was not available, as it is now, when my mother was dying from colon cancer in the mid-1990s. I attempted to find as much information as I could, and only many years after her death discovered alternative treatments that were available to magnify the benefits of her chemo treatments. So much beneficial information is now available.

Without further ado, this quick workout is amazing. It makes your body produce Nitric Oxide, AND has the added benefit of helping you increase range of motion in your joints. You can pretty much do it anywhere, and when I timed my last “workout” it was just over 2 minutes! (you want to try to work yourself up to 3 workouts per day, separated by at least 2 hours).

What surprised me most, was how sore I was 2 days later! I am in reasonably good shape for a 56 year old male. I am always looking for easy ways to optimize my health. The “hardest” part of this workout is just doing it 2 to 3 times per day. In the past week, my body fat has dropped by about 1/2 percent (that is very fast!) I am using a scale that measures body fat percentage.

Quick and Dirty: the workout consists of only 4 exercises, performed in succession, for 3 sets of 10 each. Squat (just to where you can… no deep squats needed, until you feel more comfortable). Tin Soldier - move each arm alternately straight out to shoulder height. Snow Angel - with clenched fists, start by touch your thumbs together in front of your pelvis, then swing your arms out to your sides over your head, touching there and return. And lastly, the Military Press (with no weights) 10 times up and down above your shoulders.

The key is to breathe through your nose and not your mouth. This, physiologically causes your body to produce Nitric Oxide, which vasodilates your arteries and veins (a good thing) over the following 2 hours!

I am linking this to Dr. Joseph Mercola’s post on this last year, who includes an interview with Dr.Zach Bush, who came up with this workout.

Incorporate and Enjoy (Seriously, you will feel results immediately- high blood pressure comes down fast from this!)
