Diet & Exercise

These are two areas traditionally lumped together and considered the starting points to review or address to achieve changes in your health and fitness.  As you are aware, there is huge money to be made in these areas by mostly well-intentioned individuals, especially if presenting"before" and "after" depictions to demonstrate positive results. Photos of others, and yourself, can be very motivating, but they are not "proof" that this or that workout or diet produced the depicted results.  I am skeptical about many advertising depictions of weight loss. Likely, there are many additional variables that factored into the results. In subsequent blogs, I will cover in more detail some of the latest research of what seems to work for most in these two areas.

Diet

The average person is not mindful of their daily food consumption. Most diets work initially because of planning and tracking what is eaten. This forces awareness of the quality and quantity of the meals.

The relative benefit of any weight loss or gain depends upon its composition (body fat, muscle or water). We will sort through the junk information to present what will likely work best for you in the long run.

exercise

This covers a massive universe of movement. In recent years, most people are familiar with the terms and types of exercise referred to as "cardio" and "strength" training, along with flexibility and balance. Those who have studied and researched these areas, have found ways to optimize all of these, often in ways that combine several of these and in smaller time blocks than you might expect.
